Eligibility for children

A child may qualify for survivor’s benefits if:

They are under 18 years old.
They are between 18–25 years old and enrolled in school, with an annual school certificate.
They are disabled (they are eligible for life).
They are not deceased.
They are not married (except in the case of disabled children).
They are not employed.
They are over 25 years old (except in the case of disabled children).

Eligibility for Spouse

A Spouse may qualify for survivor’s benefits if:

Surviving spouse of the deceased, and should not have remarriage status.

Application Rules

Application rules for survivor’s benefits:

If one parent deceased and is child under 18, surviving parent applies.
One parent deceased, child 18–25 → Child applies with school certificate.
Both parents deceased, child under 18 → Legal guardian applies with guardianship proof.
Both parents deceased, child 18–25 → Child applies with school certificate.
Disabled child → Child applies (or guardian if under 18) with disability certificate.
