Eligibility for children
A child may qualify for survivor’s benefits if:
- They are under 18 years old.
- They are between 18–25 years old and enrolled in school, with an annual school certificate.
- They are disabled (they are eligible for life).
- They are not deceased.
- They are not married (except in the case of disabled children).
- They are not employed.
- They are over 25 years old (except in the case of disabled children).
Eligibility for Spouse
A Spouse may qualify for survivor’s benefits if:
- Surviving spouse of the deceased, and should not have remarriage status.
Application Rules
Application rules for survivor’s benefits:
- If one parent deceased and is child under 18, surviving parent applies.
- One parent deceased, child 18–25 → Child applies with school certificate.
- Both parents deceased, child under 18 → Legal guardian applies with guardianship proof.
- Both parents deceased, child 18–25 → Child applies with school certificate.
- Disabled child → Child applies (or guardian if under 18) with disability certificate.
